About
Aweganize is a small independent brand. We make storage for homes where floor space is the thing in short supply — apartments, condos, dorm rooms, vans and RVs.
The idea came from a simple annoyance. Laundry baskets are sized for houses with laundry rooms. In a one-bedroom flat, a rigid basket is empty six days a week and in the way for all of them. You end up stepping around a large plastic object that is doing nothing.
So we set a constraint before we designed anything: it had to hold a genuine wash load, and it had to disappear when it wasn't holding one. That produced a 40-litre basket that folds to 3cm — thin enough to live in the gap between a washer and a dryer.
Some of what we've learned came from people telling us we got it wrong. Early buyers who wanted a family-sized basket found this one too small. They were right — not about the design, but about how we'd described it. We now say the size out loud, on the box and on the page, because a return is worse for you than a sale is good for us.
We're based in Brisbane, Australia. The baskets are manufactured in Zhejiang, China, and stocked and shipped through Amazon in the United States and Canada. Aweganize is a registered trademark.
